I truly love this amazing fandom, so cosign to all of the above! I cannot tag anymore (tablet problems!) but I have had so much fun with everyone from the early fandom babes I met one year ago when I first joined tumblr (survived the beautiful black hole for a year!) to the brand new Mindians I get to meet on Twitter. There are so many to mention and I don’t want to unintentionally leave anyone out, so I’m going to say this: To everyone who has made me laugh with your tweets and posts, to everyone with whom I have had any sort of online repartee, to everyone who has been part of the original #renewmindy campaign or the ongoing #fullseasonformindy, to everyone who has kindly indulged my obsession with Messi and kittens (the two are related!) and by extension my tweeting kittens to @foxtv campaign, to everyone who stuck with me during the Ramadan hiatus this year and so warmly welcomed me back afterwards, to everyone who has loved the show in any way they choose publicly or privately, everyone who has contributed to this fandom in any way, to EVERYONE who was so kind and supportive to me during a difficult time last fall and everyone who continues to support Mindians far and wide through any number of difficult challenges, I LOVE you all and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. This is the most genuine, kind and welcoming group of people I have known. Having never been part of a fandom before, I am forever spoiled in the best way because of ALL of you (gestures to the crowd). Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and God bless every one of you :)Also youvegotsomeschmutz is partially responsible for the fuckable lean blog. So you can thank her accordingly 😆Also mindiansminute and Marty for having a hilarious podcast (always puts a smile on my face) and promoting the #FullseasonForMindy campaign! YOUR FACE TOUCHED MESSINA’S FACE!THIS. there are really too many to mention inkasaurus for being a great brainstorming partner and for coming up with the idea to get the show trending My BFFoe mindannyforever. She’s gotten so much better at being more selective with tagging on twitter 😋 but seriously she knows why mindyprojectlove for creating TWO twitter accounts to be mindful of my anal spoiler free habits and other fans too. So considerate. Also for being a personal hero for her question at Paley Fest. beyoncephatthai for the support and enthusiasm especially with #Mindians Care! Also, you pick out the best Mindian gifts! The brown lady m&m mug for Mindy? genius! grelca's amazing gifs with warp speed. Seriously so much a Messina eye candy is due to you. Also an amazing and comprehensive messina watch list! Also for indulging my association of Chris Messina with “Sexy Back” andthestarsthatshine for indulging my stupid fantasy and syncing the Messina GQ video to “that’s life” by Frank Sinatra. For serious, I have watched that an embarrassing number of times. A major highlight and it made me so giddy! Plus Mindy instagrammed it! BADASS! Spoiler buddies city-bright and mygiu love both of your blogs and you helped me stay on the wagon! I will probably have another post with more.
I’ve been avoiding an anonymous ask in my box today, because some of the details could probably be used to identify one or more specific TMP fans, and while I don’t know who it is, I don’t think that it’s helpful to us as a community to single any person out unless it’s for praise.
The gist was…
Do we only have to pick one??? Then I pick grelca for her amazing GIFs… And imadandylioness for her dedication to the re-watches every week and listening to my crazy theories. And special shout outs to redglasseslove; clrmyr, inkasaurus, b-anyon and beyoncephatthai - you girls know why. (See, I knew I couldn’t just pick one!)
Pick as many or as few as you like - it’s just about showing folks appreciation. We all have followers who like every post (rain or shine), real friends we’ve made, fans who’ve made us view things differently, fans who create incredible art, people who’ve shared vids we wouldn’t otherwise be able to see…it really goes on and on. It takes a lot of people to make a fandom and there’s a reason to appreciate each and every one.
If you are reading this on a smartphone, tablet or computer, you can participate in this Mindians Care activity RIGHT NOW. It’s totally free, totally legit and totally amazing!

This fandom is the best! I love all you Mindians! Thanks for the sweet shout out, Bowye!
WELL AREN’T YOU JUST THE SWEETEST <3 Wonderfully sweet people like you really just make this fandom. I’m so glad and happy that this show has been able to bring together so many great people to freak out and be extremely excited over something we have in common. And thank you to you too! Thank you for being a part of this fandom. It wouldn’t be the same without you, or anyone else in the fandom, for that matter. It’s not just us TMP centric blogs who write fanfiction, make gifs, or write analyses, or whatever it may be, that make up this fandom. Even if you’re not a TMP centric blog, everyone who loves the show is part of this wonderful fan base. So, thank you for loving the show and for being a part of something so big, yet so small and for freaking out alongside with us! It’s definitely been a hell-atus, but without people like you, or amindyproject alittlenutjob overanalyzingtelevision grelca jsmapdi imadandylioness themindyprojectstyle clrmyr inkasaurus aconstipatedmeerkat mindyprojectlove mindyproject mindiangrowl redglasseslove helenvanpattersonpatton mygiu fyeahchrismessina singasaranade mindannyforever andthestarsthatshine brenda-thegenius tmpgifs drdanssummertimesnickerdoodleale terence-this-is-stupid-stuff sednarb insidethevolt tinyfierceandsassy or mindyanddannyfineanddandy or phunkybrewsterspen (there are too many people to tag, and this is just the beginning!) or anyone else who loves the show, I don’t think this hiatus would’ve been as bearable or as fun as it has been in these past few months. We’ve gone through a lot of hiatuses, spoilers, and dandy moments, and heartbreaking moments together, and I seriously cannot wait for season 3 to start because then we can all freak out even more together.
Sending you a million hugs and kisses as well <3333
THEY’RE A COUPLE NOW, BITCHES. BRING ON SEASON 3.
(it was very difficult to decide on one gif, so I had to include them both. thanks grelca/Graze/Grace)
Min, we love you for all of the above" I have a thick skin, which comes from being a not-really-skinny, dark-skinned Indian woman. I haven’t fit in every place, and so I’m kind of used to resistance. " - Mindy Kaling
Samesies, as a not-so-skinny Black woman. I feel u Mindy.
Also, less than 15% of US OB-Gyn practices provide that service, so I don’t see why Mindy would feel obligated to have her fictional practice address it when 85% of similar practices do not.
rikyl said: On this issue, I think it has less to do with Mindy personally and more to do with it being a show about an ob-gyn office. I can see why Mindy wouldn’t want to address it, but I can also see how people watching the show would wonder about it.
It’s ok to wonder but…
I agree with scarlettblythe and DL here as well as with the original response post http://imadandylioness.tumblr.com/post/96670286167/mindy-kaling-says-abortions-dont-belong-on-sitcoms I cannot tell you how irritated I am that women who come from a position of power and white privilege (yeah, I went there!) bristle at the thought of others dictating their life choices yet they feel perfectly comfortable, even entitled, to dictate and shame another woman (Mindy Kaling) into telling a story that these famous, privileged, powerful women have lived and that has been told in multiple formats, which even they acknowledge. Did they ever stop to think that maybe Mindy has her own story to tell, which may or may not mesh with what they are trying to bully her into doing. The argument has nothing to do with abortion itself, which is a sticky subject at best and utterly volatile at worst. The issue is that no woman who values another woman’s right to choose should be limiting that woman’s creative freedom by demanding that she tell a certain story from a certain perspective. I don’t think that Martha Plimpton, Kellie Overbey, Amanda Marcotte, Jessica Goldstein, Zoe Mintz and Erin gloria Ryan have stepped back long enough to consider who they are and what they are doing from a global context. They are powerful women who influence others’ opinions and have chosen to harrass, not Chuck Lorre or even Lena Dunham, but the first and currently only woman of color who created, produces, writes for and stars in her own show. I can’t help but notice the colonialist whiff that they, as powerful white women, feel entitled to have THEIR stories told from THEIR perspective. Never mind that Mindy may have a slightly different experience that she wants to share as she creates her own authentic story. So have I gone too far in throwing out the terms colonialist bias and white privilege to people who claim to fight against it? I just think their entitlement is so ingrained that they don’t even realize what they are doing. please don’t misunderstand me-I do not think that Mindy Kaling or The Mindy Project, much as I love both, are beyond reproach…and certainly not because a woman of color is in charge. I myself have critiqued certain storylines when I felt they went too far or veered away from the authenticity of the individual character or the show. However, I have maintained from the beginning that it is UNJUST that a double standard exists where Mindy is concerned. I see the same double standard at work here and it frankly saddens me that women who claim to fight against injustice, misogyny, double standards and ethnocentrism are at the forefront of this particular mob. Before they go piling onto Mindy, consider how many other more powerful showrunners they have called out for the same issue…what’s that? Absolutely NONE? Whoa, shock and awe… (sarcasm)
Thanks! Mindy is held to a higher standard. I don’t know why and it would be really interesting to see a psychological study on this.
I have a theory it’s because Mindy is so likable, everyone relates to her and wants her show to be their dream show and address every topic they want addressed. Any time the show or Mindy doesn’t fulfill those unrealistic expectations and they are disappointed.
When will Big Bang Theory address abortion? They really need to, so they can get more Emmys.
And when their stance on it is problematic as fuck because it’s Chuck Lorre and it’s ultimately a show about a bunch of white guys, will all those Emmys disappear?
Oh wait, the standards are different if you’re a white man, I forgot.
